The history of Golf in Tenerife is indisputably linked to the large British community established on the island and which traces its presence to several centuries ago.

During the course of our history, the Real Club de Golf de Tenerife has hosted various competitions: the Amateur Spanish Championships in 1942 and 1947, the International Spanish Open in 1964 and the Spanish Professional Double Championship in 1984.

The Spanish Ladies Open which formed part of the 2012 calendar of the Professional Ladies European Tour (LET) was held for the 1st time in the Canary Islands and was celebrated at Golf Las Américas in Tenerife from the 20th to the 23th September 2012 with 126 of the top European professionals from the order of merit.
