The history of Golf in Tenerife is indisputably linked to the large British community established on the island and which traces its presence to several centuries ago.
The prestigious Spanish Ladies Open part of the 2014 calendar of the Professional Ladies European Tour (LET), was held in September 2014 under the deep blue sky of Golf Costa Adeje beautiful course in the southwest of the island of Tenerife during three intense days.
Golf Costa Adeje, located in the wonderful Southwest Coast of the Island of Tenerife, is one of the most stunning golf courses on the Canary Islands with exceptional climatic conditions as golfers enjoy an average temperature of 25ºC the whole year.
The golf course of Buenavista highlighted by the special beauty of its surroundings between the mountains of Teno and the Atlantic Ocean, with whom it limits, and that special design, product of the imagination of one of the best golfers of all times: D. Severiano Ballesteros.
During the course of our history, the Real Club de Golf de Tenerife has hosted various competitions: the Amateur Spanish Championships in 1942 and 1947, the International Spanish Open in 1964 and the Spanish Professional Double Championship in 1984.
The course of The Real Club de Golf de Tenerife is located at an altitude which ranging from 600 meters at the lowest point to 725 meters above sea level at the highest. These features account for the diversity of the flora on the course. Its beauty lies in its abundant autochthonous vegetation which is perfectly integrated into the course.
The Spanish Ladies Open which formed part of the 2012 calendar of the Professional Ladies European Tour (LET) was held for the 1st time in the Canary Islands and was celebrated at Golf Las Américas in Tenerife from the 20th to the 23th September 2012 with 126 of the top European professionals from the order of merit.
This Tenerife Golf Course has been described by many as "A garden with tees and greens" due to the amount of flowers, plants, trees and lakes throughout the course. A beautiful ever green field planted in the middle of a Tenerife South desert.
