At the heart of the village is the 17th century Church of San Pedro together with many old noble houses. Near the village is a wonderful viewpoint, which provides commanding panoramic views of the coast and fields, surrounding Vilaflor. Further, on the distant horizon, you can see a tiny flotilla of islands: La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. (some of the neighbouring Canary islands). The road through Vilaflor winds its way through the pinewoods and then among volcanic rocks and brush-land, which eventually will lead you to El Teide National Park.
